Little Critter tells you about things he can do by himself. The pages are very interactive in a reading sense. Tap on the words in the sentences to hear them again, or tap on the beginning of the sentence and it will replay. The objects on the page can be tapped as well, allowing you to see and hear the word it represents.
The user has the choice of the “read to me”, or “read myself version”. For obvious reasons these is a perfect choices, in that once the child has become familiar with the story they can then go to the next level of reading it on their own. Any hang up on the words, help is just a tap away.
If you go into “options”, you can can choose: read to me, hear sound effects, tap on pictures and read alerts, allowing you to customize your preferences.
The book is read by Little Critter himself, but there is also the option to record your own narration & share it with others.
For two bucks, this app is well worth the price - less than half the price of the book! Once again, a stellar app by Oceanhouse Media. Created for children ages 2-5.
