Britannica Kids: Ancient Rome

Age Level: Ages 8-12, Ages: 12 +

This is, in my opinion, the exact way that any history learning app should be designed for optimal communication of the facts about any given time period. It is beautifully constructed and super easy to navigate through. There are multiple articles that are arranged in a logical chronology of information about the rise and fall of ancient Rome, all bolstered by numerous pictures and videos on the subject.

In order to fully communicate the subject, numerous activities such as puzzles, memory games and more assist kids in retaining the information. The app also provides a map of Rome that can give you the satellite aerial view of the locations discussed in the articles.

My favorite feature was the Roman God's section, which goes over all the mythology of Ancient Rome as it relates to these characters. In my experience, kids love mythology and yours may spend a lot of time in this particular section.

So there you have it, another great one from Britannica Kids and sure to satisfy both kids and adults.

Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
