2013 App of the Year Runner-Up
App Store's Editor's Choice
Every now and then I run across an app that just blows me away. This is one of those.
This app is incredibly unique, super fun and has so many facets in terms of how it teaches the alphabet, spelling and phonics, that I don't know if I can do it justice in this little bit of space I have.
Endless Alphabet is a beautifully constructed alphabet app. It provides a word for every letter of the alphabet, with really cool monster animations. Each word is then pronounced and spelled out. The letters scramble so the student can then spell the word himself. While spelling the word, each letter when pressed gives its phonetic sound, and when the letter is released it gives the name of the letter. In this way the students learn both phonics and the letter's name. Once the word is fully spelled, the monsters parade across the screen giving action examples of the word. Finally, the narrator gives a definition for the word.
The best part about this app is that each and every word gets the same treatment and it is continually being updated with more and newer words!
Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
