Google Translate offers you an instant translation to 103 languages, and currently 52 without internet connection. It also offers voice to text and pronunciation. This allows an individual to type literally anything they want and get an instant translation.
I recently did a business transaction in Spanish, which I don't speak a lick of, and pulled it off with ease. There is no way I would have been able to do this without using my Google Translate app. My boss was pretty impressed.
And that ain't all! In the most recent upgrade, there is a feature where you can use your camera and point it to printed text (as in a sign, instructions, etc), and just before your eyes, that text will visually translate into 29 languages - instantly. Just point the camera and see the text go from a completely foreign language into your own. Using a photo, you can translate up to 37 languages. In addition, the Conversation Mode gives you two-way instant speech translation in 32 languages and the Handwriting Mode allows you to draw characters instead of using the keyboard in 93 languages!
In today's world, Google Translate is just one of those apps that I wouldn't want to be without.
