iRecycle not only tells you what is recyclable, but exactly where you need to go in order to do so. This is a perfect app for getting your kids excited about making some extra money, all while benefiting the planet. With more than 1,600,000 ways to recycle over 350 materials in the United States (and parts of Mexico and Canada), I have no doubt you will find it useful. Plus, it doesn't cost a cent to download, nor are there adds or in-app purchasing!

Upon opening the app, you are asked for approval to use your current location. Choosing one of the 12 different main categories, I was taken to a list of anything that is recyclable within that category. An example, I choose Hazardous (waste). There were 74 different types of hazardous waste listed. All I had to do was tap on one of them and I was taken to a page that showed me a multitude of choices on where to go for recycle. Tapping on one of the choices brought me to a page that listed the: company name, days and hours of operation, address, phone number, link to their website and a brief description on what they handle. There was even a link for anything they would accept for recycle, of which (for the company I chose) there was a list of 37 items. To top it off, it had buttons to call directly from my phone, AND would pull up my Map icon and show me exactly how to get there. You can't get more simple than that! I found myself thinking about all the things I could recycle at just one location, and just how spick and span my garage would soon become!

I was absolutely amazed at how much information was included. No longer would I have angst about tossing things in the trash, due to the limitations of my recycle company, when in fact I could DO something about it! Very nice.

Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
