Is Apatosaurus Okay? - Smithsonian’s Prehistoric Pals

Age Level: Ages 0–5, Ages 5-8
By Developer: Oceanhouse Media

Does your child have a dinosaur fetish? Many kids do. Oceanhouse Media can satisfy that!

The Apatosaurus was one of the more “mellow” dinosaurs - being that it was a vegetarian. Spend a day with this interesting dino, while he goes about his business of satiating his hunger and keeping predators at bay. He may not have razor sharp teeth, but his tail packs a powerful punch!

At the end of the story there is additional information about the dinosaur, and the era in which it lived. All-in-all very educational and easy for a youngster to understand. Very impressive.

With all Oceanhouse Media apps, everything on each page is tappable, with the word of the item shown and said out loud. In addition, one can tap a word in the story to hear it again, or double tap to hear the sentence again. There are many other creatures from the same time period within the story, so if you're having a, “It's called a what?” moment, having the ability to see and hear the names again is very handy. Words are highlighted as story is read. If you want to record and share your own rendition, they have you covered! The app is accompanied by great background music and sounds that one would expect in this time period. The artwork is fantastic!

Is Apatosaurus Okay? is one of the 10 Smithsonian's Prehistoric Pal apps by Oceanhouse Media. Purchase it for $2.99, or get the whole bundle for $9.99. That's a nice savings for some stellar apps. Meet each featured dinosaur, as well as a slew of others that are incorporated into each story.

Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Designed for kids 3-8.
