This app won an Editor's Choice Award for Excellence in Design in Children's Technology Review.
This app turns a child's fingers into math props that link touch with math equations. The app allows kids to learn math concepts (specifically division and multiplication) using multiple touch movements of their choosing.
Some of the methods include a “hundred board” where the student learns multiplication by pulling down a sheet containing rows and columns of dots. Another is by using 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 fingers to instantly create the number of dots by the number of times it is to be added to itself for multiplication. Division is done by pulling a portion of dots down into tubs, that represent the number of times the primary figure is being divided.
Inside this app are six quality methods of teaching any beginning math student these concepts. With a little parental help, there's nothing to stop them from getting good - fast! The app even features a “dual board” where two students, or a student and a tutor, can work on the same problem at the same time. Enhance learning by cooperation!
A stellar app with a unique approach that's sure to help a lot of kids out there!
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
